Venezuelas defence minister on Monday declared the armys loyalty to Maduro, who ordered troops into the streets ahead of a major protest by opponents trying to oust him. Venezuela is bracing for what Maduros opponents vow will be the " mother of all protests" Wednesday, after two weeks of violent demos against moves by the leftist leader and his allies to tighten their grip on power.

The event marked the seventh anniversary of the force and showcased their unwavering support for President Maduro amidst mounting political tensions. As Venezuela prepares itself for what has been dubbed as the "mother of all protests" scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Maduro's opponents are determined to overthrow him after weeks of violent demonstrations against his government's tightening grip on power. In response to these threats, Maduro ordered troops into the streets and received a resounding declaration of loyalty from Venezuela's defense minister. The image captured by Federico Parra encapsulates both defiance and unity within the Bolivarian Militia. Despite facing opposition from various factions within Venezuelan society, this member proudly displays a smile that reflects their unwavering commitment towards upholding Maduro's presidency. The photograph serves as a reminder that while political turmoil engulfs Venezuela, there are still those who stand firmly behind their leader. It also highlights how deeply divided Venezuelan society has become; with some passionately supporting Maduro and others vehemently opposing his regime. Federico Parra skillfully captures this momentous occasion through his lens, providing viewers with an insight into one aspect of Venezuela's complex political landscape during this critical period in its history.
