Chimfunshi Chimp Reserve, Zambia, Africa
Pan troglodytes
Chimfunshi Chimp Reserve is recognised as the worlds largest dedicated sanctuary for orphaned chimps. As chimpanzees are not indigenous to Zambia it is not possible to free-release them locally, therefore 2, 000 acres of forest land has been designated to the chimps.

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this close-up, we witness a rare moment of aggression as our furry friend yawns wide, revealing an impressive set of teeth. With its mouth open and teeth on full display, this chimpanzee means business! Taken at the renowned Chimfunshi Chimp Reserve in Zambia, Africa, this photo captures the essence of these incredible primates. Known as Pan troglodytes in scientific terms, they are not native to Zambia but have found solace in this sanctuary.
