A heart shape is formed by a participant of the Feminist Initiative election night party in Stockholm, Sweden, after first exit polls were announced after the Swedish general elections on September 14, 2014. Voting for Sweden's parliament ended with an exit poll suggesting a win for a Social Democrat-led left-green trio of parties and a major gain for the far-right Sweden Democrats. The Social Democrat-led group was tipped to get 44.8 percent of the votes, according to the exit poll by public broadcaster SVT, while the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats were seen garnering 10.5 percent, up from 5.7 percent in the last election four years ago. Scots head to the polls on September 18, 2014 for an independence referendum that could end its three centuries old union with England and create Europe's newest country since the collapse of Yugoslavia. Campaigners for and against Scottish independence scrambled for votes ahead of a historic referendum, as a religious leader prayed for harmony after polls showed Scots were almost evenly split.
