The French prestigious ocean liner France is saluted by the crowd, as she leaves Le Havre harbour, on January 03, 1962, for its first transatlantic trip. - The France was a Compagnie Gnrale Transatlantique ocean liner, constructed by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard at Saint-Nazaire. Launched 11 May 1960, it was put into service in February 1962, combining regular transatlantic crossings - six days and nights - with winter cruises, as well as two world circumnavigations. The France was later renamed SS Norway and undertook mostly cruises for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). (Photo by - / AFP)
