Australia-Christmas-40 Santas

Some 40 Santa Clauses disembark having "flown from The North Pole" on a Qantas Boeing 747-300 to Sydney International Airport, 09 November 2005, in time for Christmas. Over 200 Santas have graduated this year from the Myer Santa School having been taught about the meaning of Christmas, the history of Santa, ways to communicate with children and their parents, and how to create the Santa magic. One of the first Olympic coins in the world to feature a colour hologram, a silver $5 coin, on display at the Royal Australian Mint in Canberra, 11 May 2004, released to celebrate the Athens Olympic Games, which starts in less than 100 days. With a low mintage of only 2500, the tri-metal $50 and the accompanying silver $5 (shown) and aluminium bronze $5 are priced at USD 420 per set. Previous Australian hologram coins, with slightly higher mintages, have risen in price by up to 900 percent. AFP PHOTO/Torsten BLACKWOOD / AFP PHOTO / TORSTEN BLACKWOOD
