Fashion 1960 s. Now Its a crazy bald-head look for Girls
Fashion 1960 s. Now Its a crazy bald-head look for Girls. At the Jacques Esterel show, which opened the high fashion collections in Paris on Monday (27-7-64) there were certainly no bare bosoms just a bare head. Quite bare. Yul Brynner bare. And to show that the brave model girl was not bald to start with, every programme had a lock of her hair in it. Her name is Bibelot, and she cries a little each day when designer Jacques Esterel personally shaves her head. If it makes her so sad to be bald, why does she do it? " She is my star model, " says Esterel, " and its important that she plays the stars role. In any case, I have made her fifteen wigs, and she can let her hair grow again in three months". EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the 1960s captures a moment in fashion history that pushes boundaries and challenges societal norms. Titled "Fashion 1960s: Now It's a Crazy Bald-Head Look for Girls" the image showcases an avant-garde display at the Jacques Esterel show in Paris. In this striking photograph, we see a brave model named Bibelot, who willingly sheds her locks to embrace a Yul Brynner-inspired bald head. To emphasize her transformation, each program distributed at the event contains a lock of her hair as proof of her former appearance. While it may seem puzzling why Bibelot would choose such an unconventional style that brings tears to her eyes daily, designer Jacques Esterel explains that she is his star model. He believes it is crucial for her to embody the role of a star on the runway. Moreover, he has created fifteen wigs for Bibelot so she can regrow her hair within three months if desired. This photograph encapsulates both the audacity and creativity present in 1960s fashion. It serves as a reminder that fashion is not just about conforming but also about pushing boundaries and challenging traditional beauty standards.
