Royal Navy Submarine HMS Triumph Enters HMNB Clyde
Trafalgar Class submarine SSN (Ship Submersible Nuclear) HMS Triumph, glides into HM Naval Base Clyde in the early morning sun following a patrol.
The Triumph of today is somewhat different from her predecessors. Built by VSEL at Barrow-in-Furness, she was commissioned in October 1991 and is the seventh and last of the Trafalgar class. Since commissioning, the submarine has completed a number of notable patrols from the North Atlantic to the Far East.
Between 2005 and 2009, Triumph went through a long overhaul period to refuel the reactor, complete essential maintenance and repairs. During this long overhaul period, the vessels equipment and sensors were upgraded to make her one of the most potent and advanced submarines in the flotilla

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, the Royal Navy Submarine HMS Triumph gracefully enters HMNB Clyde, bathed in the warm glow of the early morning sun. As a Trafalgar Class submarine and a Ship Submersible Nuclear (SSN), she represents the pinnacle of naval engineering and military prowess. Commissioned in October 1991, HMS Triumph is the seventh and final vessel of her class. Throughout her service, she has embarked on numerous notable patrols spanning from the North Atlantic to the Far East. However, it was between 2005 and 2009 that Triumph underwent an extensive overhaul period to refuel her reactor and undergo essential maintenance and repairs. During this transformative phase, not only was her nuclear power source replenished but also her equipment and sensors were upgraded. These enhancements have elevated HMS Triumph to become one of the most potent and advanced submarines within the flotilla. As she glides into HM Naval Base Clyde with elegance, this image captures both her historical significance as part of Britain's formidable fleet submarines as well as her modern capabilities that make her an invaluable asset for national security. This photograph by LA (Phot) Ben Sutton serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication of those who serve aboard HMS Triumph in protecting our waters with utmost professionalism and vigilance.
