Sketch of the Battle of Cawnpore, 1857, (1901). Fought on the 6th of December 1857 by the British Forces under the command of His Excellency Sir Colin Campbell, G.C.B. Commander in Chief in India, against the Insurgent Troops of the Gwalior Contingent and others under Brothers of Nana Sahib of Bithur. Map of the town of Cawnpore (modern-day Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh). The British under General Sir Colin Campbell defeated the Indian rebels commanded by Tantya Tope.
