EDITORS COMMENTS
Great photo capturing a memorable moment in FA Cup history: Theo Walcott's shocking upset for Arsenal against non-league side Sutton United in the FA Cup Fifth Round on February 20, 2017. The image, taken by renowned sports photographer David Price, shows Walcott in full flight as he scores a goal past Sutton's goalkeeper Ross Worner, with the elated expression of the Arsenal players and fans in the background. The FA Cup, the oldest domestic football competition in the world, is known for its upsets and underdog stories. But few could have predicted the scale of Sutton United's victory over Arsenal that day. The non-league side, then playing in the National League South, had never before reached the FA Cup quarter-finals, let alone faced a Premier League giant like Arsenal. Despite the odds being heavily stacked against them, Sutton put up a valiant fight. They took a shocking early lead through a Craig Eastmond goal, and held their own against the Gunners for much of the game. But Walcott's goal in the second half, his first in the competition that season, looked to have sealed Arsenal's progression to the next round. However, Sutton refused to give up and equalized through a stunning free-kick from Dean Beckwith in injury time. The game went to a replay, which Arsenal won 2-0, but the memory of this FA Cup tie will forever be etched in the annals of football history. This photo captures the excitement and tension of the moment, as well as the determination and grit of both teams. It's a reminder that in football, as in life, anything is possible.
