Australia-Viking/2
With a Sydney Harbour ferry dwarfing the tiny Viking boat, Norwegian traditional boatbuilder Harald Dalland takes a small family sailboat for a run at Darling Harbour as part of the National Maritime Museum's Classic and Wooden Boat Festival in Sydney 10 October. Called a oselvarbat, the boat is a direct descendant from the great Viking ships, displaying the same design and construction including the traditional wooden keel, an invention which gave the Viking ships superior speed.
