The spacecraft contaning Apollo 12 astronauts Charles "Pete" Conrad, Jr., commander, Richard F. Gordon, command module pilot, and Alan L. Bean, lunar module pilot parachutes safely into the Pacific Ocean, on November 24, 1969, approximately 350 nautical miles southeast of Samoa, at the completion of their Apollo 12 lunar landing mission. An Apollo / Saturn V space vehicle launched them from the Kennedy Space Center, on November 14, 1969, on the Apollo 12 United States second manned lunar landing mission.
