Michael Coeck, also known as Michiel Coxcie or Michael Coexius (1502-1550), was a prominent Flemish painter of the Renaissance period. Born in Bruges, Coeck was a student of Quentin Massys and became a member of the Guild of St. Luke in Antwerp in 1521. He is best known for his portraits, particularly those of the wealthy and powerful, and his religious works.
