Gassier (French cartoonist - 1883-1951). 20 parts, original illustrated wrappers, cover designs by Jean Cocteau and Paul Iribe with illustrations by Cocteau, Sem, Dufy, Bakst, Lhote, Gleizes and Pierre-Emile Legrain. Complete set of 20 issues, published between 28th November 1914 and 1st July 1915. Co-founded by Jean Cocteau and the designer and fashion illustrator Paul Iribe. Le Mot is notably patriotic and anti-German. Iribe contributes most of the striking cover designs while Cocteau supplies poems, articles and numerous drawings and cartoons pseudonymously signed Jim.
